Born in Hong Kong, Raymond Wui Man Yiu<\/strong> moved to Aberdeen, Scotland in 2008 and attended the Aberdeen City Music School<\/strong> studying the piano with Peter Evans. During his time at ACMS, he made his concerto debut<\/strong> performing Mozart Piano Concerto No. 20<\/strong> with the Meadows Chamber Orchestra in Edinburgh in 2010. Since winning the title of Aberdeen Young Musician of the Year, he performed concertos by Schumann, Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff and Grieg with orchestras<\/strong>. He gave recitals at music festivals around Scotland including the Aberdeen International Youth Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\nIn 2012 he won a scholarship to study with Senior Professor Joan Havill at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama<\/strong> in London, where he obtained his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees with Distinction<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\nBeing a recipient of numerous national and international prizes<\/strong>, he won concerto prizes at festivals including Springboard, Worthing and Edinburgh,3rd Prize at 2019 Norah Sande Awards, Highly Commended Prize at 2019 Bromsgrove International Musicians’ Competition, 3rd Prize Christopher Duke International Piano Competition, 3rd Prize Moray International Piano Competition, 5th Prize at the First New Stars International Music Competition for Strings and Piano, and 3rd Prize at 2018 Windsor International Piano Competition, which led to an invitation to join the KNS Classical Label. <\/p>\n\n\n\nHe was recently on the Artist Diploma<\/strong> programme as a Trinity College of Music Scholar studying with Gabriele Baldocci at Trinty Laban Conservatoire<\/strong>, where he has won the John Longmire and Alfred Kitchin Competitions for his interpretations of the works by Beethoven and Schumann. Recent highlights include winning the Carne Trust Chamber Music Competition<\/strong> held in Conway Hall, London, as part of the Bolling Trio, and performing Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto<\/strong> with the London Gay Symphony Orchestra.
